2004 KCS Initiation
KCS was initiated as a video technology research organization in 2004, since then it has sequentially expanded its technology portfolios to include embedded platforms, client and server applications as well as total solutions for various needs of real time or VOD video deliveries.
2005 World’s first H.264 Consumer Product
KCS Digital introduced world’s first H.264 consumer product offering high resolution video and low bandwidth requirement.
2006 World’s First Large Scale Wireless Airport Surveillance
KCS was selected as main technology platform providers for large scale wireless surveillance system by NEC as a result of a very thorough technology comparisons.
These world’s first high performance H.264 D1 video surveillance system were implemented at three major international airports Washington Dulles International Airport (US), Seoul Inchon International Airport (South Korea) and Dubai International Airport. The systems not only offers high video quality, easy operations, large scale implementations but also running on wireless network in fast moving inter-terminal trains. It was the most advanced video surveillance system even up to the date.
2007 Spin Off
With US$400K funding from individual investors, KCS officially spin off to become an independent company In June 2007. About 20 employees joined the new company. The new company operated in two locations; down town Taipei City, Taiwan and Nanshan Shenzhen Science Park, China.
2007 Taiwan Excellence Gold Award: Innovative Product of the Year 2008
Based on KCS’s technology platform, KCS swiftly developed an ODM product to one major electronic company. The product has won the Top Gold-Metal Award of Year 2008, this contest was organized by Taiwanese government, only 7 product received this top honor out of thousands of competing products.
2008 DIGIZON became the NO.1 IPTV product in Taiwan
Since August 2008 KCS’ own brand product DIGIZON has exceeded 50% of total marketing share in Taiwan.
2009 Company Expansion
In May 2009 KCS increased its capital to US$3.7M with major institutional investments from US and Taiwan. KCS has a very professional Board of Directors. KCS Directors all came with excellent records of successful company executions.
KCS has more than 30+ employees. About 50% of them have advanced degrees (Master and Ph.D) in technical discipline with US, Europe and Taiwan exposures. KCS has over 85% employee retention rate. Most of original team members are still with the company since company’s initiation.
2009 and beyond Continuation of Innovative Product and Solution
In June 2009, KCS introduced a new H.264 IPTV Card for NB and desktop computers at the 2009 COMPUTEX Taiwan. The added ability of video streaming on top of current TV Cards brings unlimited enjoyment to users.
KCS soon to roll out complete IPTV solution consisting of head-end encoders, video and management servers as well as Set Top Box. This total solution enables commercial customers to host their IPTV service quickly with ease of management and excellent cost structure.
