transmission and mobile management to build the ever important security
management of a giant international airport. To meet this demand, KCS
Digital has developed the H.264 Full D1 high-resolution digital
surveillance system, a pioneer application of digital surveillance.
The high-end H.264 digital surveillance system developed by KCS Digital
utilizes real H.264 codec (by ITU/ISO), reaching the industry demand of
the highest full D1 resolution quality while requiring the lowest
bandwidth. Additionally, this system has the best error resilience
capability in a wireless network environment. KCS Digital is
collaborating with a Japanese SI partner, who is famous for this type of
system. As a result, KCS Digital and its partner has successfully built
a new-generation digital surveillance application. Wireless multicast transmission & real time surveillance
KCS Digital understands that it’s difficult to install surveillance
systems in auto-driving trains on the move, especially when the
operation distance is over 10 KM. In these type of cases, KCS Digital
allows cameras inside the train to take images from both the front and
inside the train. Passengers can then see the live images on a LCD
monitor inside the train and feel at ease knowing that they are safe. On
the other hand, management staffs can monitor everything related to the
train operations, in real time, at the central management center in
order to ensure the safety of their passengers and instantly react to
any urgent cases.
Because the train is moving at the speed of 40 KM per hour or faster, it
is unable to build wired LAN to transmit real time video. Therefore, KCS
Digital has, in 2 different projects, put a wireless emitter inside the
train to transmit the digital surveillance video to the AP, which are
placed next to the train rails and then transmit those videos to the
central management center via a 2.4G fiber network.
KCS Digital has completely revolutionized real time surveillance by
realizing and developing the H.264 high-end digital video compression
technology. Compared with other digital compression technologies, H.264
technology has the best transmitting ability in a wireless (Wi-Fi)
environment. KCS Digital also strengthens the error resilience ability
of the system in wireless (Wi-Fi) environment. Moreover, the additional
benefit from cooperation with our SI partner, who that possesses the
best wireless (Wi-Fi) proficiency in Japan, resulted in KCS Digital
winning contracts with 2 international, world renown airports, beating
out numerous international competitors. Full frame rate & Full D1 High Resolution with low bandwidth
Taking the Dubai International Airport as an example, more than 200
cameras will be installed inside the trains and around fixed locations
throughout the airport during the first stage of construction. More than
200 channels of full D1 high-resolution image will be simultaneously
transmitted to different monitor centers and a central management room.
Although a 2.4G fiber network is built inside the airport, a key issue
in traditional digital surveillance systems is the problem of
overloading the bandwidth. However, with the ability of the KCS Digital
advanced video server's H.264 technology, the Dubai International
Airport only needs a bandwidth of 1 Mbps or above to transmit videos at
a full frame rate & full D1 high resolution digital video for each
channel. Not only does KCS Digital only require a low bandwidth, it also
lessens the loading requirement of network bandwidths, solving the
common problem of bandwidth shortages with large-scale constructions of
digital surveillance systems. The most efficient real time multi-channel recording
In this case, every full frame rate & full D1 video on each channel must
be transmitted in real time to the recording server in central
management room in order to proceed with a complete recording. KCS
Digital's high-end digital surveillance system can support each
recording server in simultaneously receiving and recording videos on up
to 32 channels. Also, because of the complete realization of the highest
compression rate of H.264 technology, KCS Digital’s surveillance system
can tremendously decrease the total cost of hardware. Compared to other
video compression technologies, KCS Digital’s surveillance system only
requires 1/2 to 1/3 of the storage capacity required by any other
leading surveillance system.
Multicast integrated monitoring and centralized management
In this case, cameras are placed in moving trains and in many fixed
locations within the airport. The captured digital videos are then
transmitted, in real time, to the trains, station monitor center,
central management center and central management room. KCS Digital's
high-end digital surveillance system is capable of transmitting at a
full frame rate & full D1 multiple-channel digital video to multiple
sites, all in real time, while keeping the peer-to-peer video delay time
under 0.5 seconds and maintaining a low bandwidth requirement.
Remote controlling
Furthermore, KCS Digital's high-end digital surveillance system also has
capability of control from a remote location. Users can access the
central management system from off-site locations, allowing users to
control and manage all the equipment remotely. Its easy to see why our

In this case, management staffs can use a PC, via wired or wireless
network, to access the central management system monitor each channel in
real time, while simultaneously managing all equipments in the system.
